Depakote and arotic stenosis

Depakote is most commonly prescribed to treat bipolar disorder or epilepsy.  Sadly, taking this medication, especially while pregnant, can cause serious and traumatic side effects.

One side effect related to taking Depakote while pregnant is aortic stenosis.  Aortic stenosis is a birth injury that affects an infant’s heart and blood vessels.  It occurs when the valve in the heart regulating blood flow out of the heart and to the rest of the body does not function properly.

With aortic stenosis, blood flow to the rest of the body’s organs will be insufficient.  As a result, a child with aortic stenosis may suffer from symptoms like chest pains, fatigue, and various respiratory problems.

If you or someone you know was prescribed Depakote while pregnant, contact the Depakote lawsuit attorneys of Williams Kherkher at 800-761-3187 to learn more about possible side effects related to taking Depakote.
